Below is a copy of a post made by one of our young alumni coaches-Brandon Morton-who, along with our other alumni coaches and friends, wanted to bring back the alumni involvement in our baseball program. They are starting with bringing back the alumni game vs the varsity and are going to use this as a fund raiser to help our program.
This is something the baseball alumni have been working on solely on their own. They will need our support to continue to make this a success. They asked me to send information regarding this so all of you are aware. They have worked hard to get alumni involved and support from families and friends.
We are excited to have a great group of baseball alumni so passionate about baseball, our kids and helping our program to continue to grow.
We hope this is just the beginning of more good things to come……..

(Attention Firestone Baseball Alumni)
This year we will be bringing back to alumni baseball game vs the varsity team. This was something that used to be a huge part to the program and with the new coaching staff now (all FHS alumni) we wanted to bring back this event to show these kids that we all care for the program as much as we did when we were a part of it.
A new format : Starting this year, and for years to come, we will be making this a fundraiser event in hopes of being able to do more field maintenance. Players of the past have either loved or hated the field but we are hoping to make it a palace (eventually) but we must start somewhere! To play in the game, the cost for alumni will be $30. This will include an alumni shirt and all proceeds will go directly to Firestone Baseball. I am hoping to get at least 15 guys, as we will all get in the game (and hopefully show these young men we’ve still got it)
Location : Dave Marshall Field (Firestone home field)
Date & Time : August 11th at 5ish
I’m hoping to get a lot of support from former guys and families. Its important for us as coaches to show these kids that we support them 100% and want to continue to help this program to grow.
Firestone High School Athletics is having it’s first annual golf outing. If you have any interest in golf (you don’t have to be good to play in a scramble because you can pick your ball up and hit it from the spot of your best shot of your four golfers).
Proceeds benefit our players as well as other athletes at Firestone. Proceeds will benefit the new weight room equipment, the new Firestone Field (which we will be allowed to practice on) and the Firestone Athletics Hall of Fame.
We need players/teams and sponsorships. Our baseball parents are some of the most involved and supportive parents in the school! We need you on board. We want a full 144 players (36 teams of four) at the golf outing; it’s going to be a great event for Firestone Athletics.
Hello to All!
Banquet is Thursday 5/31-players/families–if you have not received an email regarding the information-please contact us via the baseball email email@example.com.

Happy Spring Break!
I just wish spring would actually break-and stay.
So a quick note to all-since I will be traveling with the varsity to Myrtle Beach I most likely will not be sending out information on Sun-For the JV and Freshmen here-please be sure you are in contact with coaches or the contact person to let you know about the week ahead. I know there are several freshmen games scheduled-but need to pay attention to the coaches texts the kids should be getting for updates. Any questions you have, please contact those coaches. I’m sure if they are not playing, there are going to be several practices.
Scheduled freshmen games for next week-
Tues 4/10 University School-Shaker Heights at home 5:00 PM
Wed 4/11 Padua Franciscan HS-5:00 PM–for this field– I am not sure about location
Thurs 4/12 Padua Franciscan HS at home 5:00PM
Fri 4/13 Perry Massillon HS at home 5:00 PM
Again, watch for cancellations-also any field changes at home if they are able to find another field to play on if need be.
